Many Mumbaikars feel the need to just take a break from their hectic schedule and drive away not too far from the city into a place that can offer them lush greenery and icy cool waterfall where they can enjoy and have some great time with their family and friends. Here we take a look at the top 5 waterfalls near Mumbai that offer the best way to enjoy our weekend.<\/p>\n

Tungareshwar Waterfalls<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you don’t want to travel too far from the city you can catch a Western Railway local train and get down at Vasai or even at Naigaon and head towards Tungareshwar waterfalls that offer complete fun and thrill that you can get within the city limits. Although, you might find that there are many people here especially during the weekends but you cannot help much because most visitors come here on weekends to break free and enjoy the waterfall. You can also take a rickshaw from Vasai station or you can make use of the local state transport bus to reach the destination.<\/p>\n

The area around the waterfall is thickly wooded so nature lovers can always enjoy clicking some great pictures while adventure lovers can enjoy trekking and climbing up the rocks. I know Bushi Dam is not a waterfall destination but it can offer you the same kind of experience for sure. The dam is in Lonavala<\/a> and as usual you will find lot of people here especially during the weekends as many Mumbaikars and even people from Pune rush to Bushi Dam to enjoy some water splashing activities.<\/p>\n

While the lower side of Bushi dam might be crowded with people that do not want to climb higher but you can go around the dam and find a way to gradually move up the hill and reach a spot where you will find a waterfall. Bhivpuri Waterfalls<\/strong><\/p>\n

Not too far away from Karjat you will find Bhivpuri Road station and that should be your next stop to get down and enjoy Bhivpuri waterfalls that offer you a great time to get wet and wild. The waterfalls offer you a better way to start your weekend and if you want to get back home the same day you don’t even have to bother because the place is not too far from Mumbai.<\/p>\n

Located on the Mumbai Ahmedabad highway, Chinchoti waterfalls is around Juhuchandra Village and Vasai offering a splendid way to break free this weekend.
